We often talk in class about the form of a pot and what it is communicating to the user. What about what the form of the pot does to communicate with its surroundings? Ikebana is a flower arranging philosophy that works to find balance and interest in the way the plants, flowers, and other additions sit in space. Our pottery has a major role to play in this balance. We will attempt vases, wall hangings, centerpieces, and outdoor planters that bring clay and color into the sculptural form created by the flower arrangement.
