THURSDAYS, January 18 - March 8
10:00 - 12:00 with Kirk Mayhew
Sometimes a single object is not enough. Whether you are looking for an efficient way to create multiples of the same form in your own work, or have been inspired by an installation artist who has filled a gallery with identical looking art pieces, you know what this class is about. We will look at ceramists who use multiples in their own work to decide what sort of molds we want to create. Students will then design and create a form to be molded. Wheel throwers and handbuilders welcome!!! Casting and surfacing techniques will be decided on an individual basis. Class fee includes access to “plaster-only” tools, metal shimming, and mold- making shelving. Plaster additional per pound.
