Working with porcelain can be incredibly frustrating! It can be fickle if you don’t know how to work with it. In this class, we’ll talk about adapting your skills in stoneware to work with porcelain. We’ll cover throwing thinner, closed forms, altering, adding attachments that won’t pop off in the drying stage, and creating a wetbox. We’ll also discuss choosing appropriate glazes that really emphasize how beautiful porcelain is! Whether you’ve tried porcelain before (even if you were only mildly successful, or if you completely “failed”), or you’ve never touched the stuff but you’re willing and ready to try the next stage in your clay education, this class is for you!
